What The World??

A friend of mine is working as an consultant before and when my friend went and do another consultant job, my friend asked me everything of a server from CPU, RAM, HDD, RAID, Virtualization and many more. I am honestly wondering how can a consultant don't know all this stuff? The best is their company is doing a project and I need to help my friend figure things out.

Seriously, after answering about 10 of my friends question, I feel better they pay me another consultation fees then I can throw in what I know to help them. Yes I agree that we can share knowledge but everything has a limit and some of the stuff that my friend asked me can be google and all your answers are there.

Like people say, consultants are there to con you and then insult you, but boy this is going the other way round

A Sad True Story

On the 28th January 2011, without me knowing, I lost a friend. I lost my ex colleague. Today at 2am I got an SMS from my Klang Boss notifying that my friend pass away and I was really shocked to see the SMS as it was too good to be true. None of us ever expected it. My friend died when a lorry / trailer hit his car from the right passenger seat till the impact of the collision hit him in front and I believe he pass on with neck injuries. I believe he was on his way home at that time when the incident happen.

Honestly after I read the sms, I was kind of manchang. This friend of mine is younger than me and he has so many goals in life this year as he moved on to a better job. He actually shared this goals he had with us during his farewell.

After arriving to his house, when I saw the picture that was in front of the coffin, I was sad. I was hit by reality that my friend is no longer with us here on earth. It was really sad to see his parents loosing their kid to an accident. We stayed for about 25minutes before they had to move on to Shah Alam for cremation but that Mr Ng and I didn't follow along.

This friend of mine just left my current company about a month ago after finding another job nearer to his house which honestly all of us were happy for him. I still remember during his farewell he told me that when it was my last day in SL he will come for my farewell. A couple of weeks ago, he contacted me and even plan out to go to my Klang boss house next Sunday for Chinese New Year.

Kok Ping, you will be truly miss by all of us. Even as I write this, I tear coz I lost a good friend. I will always remember the dinners that we have together when I did my OT from Giant Car Park, Piggy and many more places. Thanks for helping me out in my work when I needed to print so much for Tbank Audit and you really help me a great deal. You will be dearly missed.

TRUTH PLEASE!

Ok this is regarding work. The other day I receive a call at 4am (YES 4AM!) and I had to support thanks to some program error. But guess what happen in the end? BJ suddenly turn the tables to cover his SENIOR STAFF MISTAKE and guess who got it? ME!

Anyway his SENIOR STAFF told his junior staff to go cancel the job and by their actions, it impacted the rest of the EOD. And that is why they called me at 4am. When I provided my ID that was where the next day the EOD had problems again and that is when BJ start asking why I provide my ID and bla bla. BJ was clever, but guess what? I was out of the mail. If I was in the email, I will surely make sure BJ was shot on the head with a sniper as I know what happen.

From all emails flying around he didn't mention that his staff made the mistake but he was actually shooting me. But what to do? IF you tell the truth, you will get shot. Like Pastor mention, truth will hurt but if we have the guts to say acknowledge that we did the mistake everything will be settle.

CNY Coming

Just when Christmas is over, now CNY is coming! I am not sure what is happening but time is really flying just too fast!

Stupid Customer Service

The other day I called up customer service (CS) regarding my HP stuff. Anyway to cut short, the customer service is really dumb. This CS when talking was nervous. I really wonder why when I was ok to him till he told me the 1st line. Check out some parts of it

JT : I would like to know why I didn't get the sms
CS : Sir maybe the place you are in don't have coverage.
JT : Hello, I stay in PJ, how can it be I don't have coverage?
CS : Sir how many bars do you have?
JT : FULL! (my friends around me started to laugh)


CS : Sir you still can use your line to call.
JT : Are you sure (because I tried before calling them)
CS : Yes you can
JT : Wait let me try ( I try calling someone and fail too)
JT : Cannot also. You say can still call.
CS: No sir, what I am trying to say is your line still can be used after you top up.

I Am Different?

The other day when I went for CG, my cg member asked me this question

Gabe : Jason, what did you do to your hair?
Jason : Nothing *Start to touch my own hair*
Gabe : It's like different.
Eric : Maybe it grew longer


And the other day in Church

Uncle : Jason you wear specs?
Jason : Yeah since last year uncle.
Uncle : Didn't notice that
Jason : Yeah had too because my right eye got power while my left is ok.


Anyway nope I didn't go for any plastic surgery or anything. I am still me.haha.

Horrible

Current situation in office quite horrible. Man the mistakes that we are doing which is not suppose to be done for those experience people is not accepted. Due to mistakes we are being audited. Quite sad. But I am not saying I am freaking good here. Even others do the mistakes we as one whole gang will kena m16 as we are all under 1 roof. Now we are even more extra careful when doing our work. We have no choice. We need to watch our backs as our backs are being watched.

At times thanks to others mistakes, my boss kena m16 and I feel its really unfair. But what to do? When we make mistakes he will have to protect us. I guess when we are doing our work we got to be extra careful or else it wont be so nice. At my side it is total different. We do also kena, do wrong also kena so sometimes its really confusing.

Iphone 4

Nope I don't have Iphone 4 and I am not getting 1 but just want to write a story about it. My friend and I had a gathering that time and my friend change his phone to Iphone 4 as his nokia was messed up. One part of Iphone 4 that caught me was the apps and 1 of the apps my friend showed to us that when a song is played on another HP, it is being sang or it is being played of speakers, the phone will find the song son the Internet and tell you the name of the song and even point you to youtube if there is a URL for it. Wow. Amazing. But is it worth paying so much for Iphone? I guess it depends if it is a a need or a want.

Battle For Middle Earth 2

I too bought this game long time ago but the installation wasn't functioning so I decided to find this game and I found it too. Superb. But I don't have the time to play it. But I guess it should be quite good as the 1st part which is Battle for Middle Earth was quite nice to play but honestly even at the simple level, you at times can put your hair out :P

Marvel Ultimate Alliance

I bought this game when I was studying my degree but I could not get it to work as some of the files during installation was missing. When you install the game it takes about 6-7GB of space. Anyway, I decided to go and find the game and I mange to find it the other day and I decided to have a go at it and boy it is quite fun to play. Really. There are so many super heroes to choose from to play and you can create a real team from it.

Anyway that day food was freaking good. I saw Alang and he was quite happy to see me too :) I known him for a very long time now. Many years I can say. So when he told order from us I told him give us more seafood for our spaghetti and it really came out a lot more. Not only that, my dad's mix grill came out BIG! What did we eat that day? Funny Story

The other day in Digital Mall

LH :You know my friends believe that getting a pc means you need good cooling
JT : Yeah agree
LH : You know how many fans my friend had in his PC?
JT : 3?
LH : 5!
JT : 5? So many!
LH : But you know what? His cpu still burn.
JT : What?

*Both started to laugh*

Actually I am wondering how that happen. I am wondering if the PSU is not branded and that with 5 fans it took out more than it could supply to the board. I know there is a need for fans, but I don't think you need till 5 we are not in 24/7 winter country. No matter what the PC will confirm be hot and you will not be able to run away from heat.

Do Your Backup

The other day my HDD decided to act on me and guess what happen? The HDD that I store my mp3 all went down the drain. What happen was a couple of days before this HDD already crack out on me by not being able to detect when it hit into windows. But after a couple of restarts it was ok.

But this time it lost its File Allocation Table (FAT). And I know that once you loose your FAT, you will need to format the whole thing. I actually wanted to get at removable HDD before I resign so that I can store my work but after all my mp3 is gone, it is quite hard to recover back what I lost. I lost about total of 25gb of songs. I lost my Korean Songs,(Total Gone) Christmas Songs, (Total Gone) Christian Songs (recovered only 5gb), R&B, Smallville S10 (This I manage to recover fully) and some other stuff in that HDD.

So what I am trying to say is perform your backup often. Because you don't know when is your HDD going to go on you. But even if you use ext hdd, your hdd might go down the drain too. So what is the best way? I guess it is to have a PC that can do RAID. I know PC now can do RAID. Maybe my future PC will come with RAID 1.

Allow me to add on for those who are getting pc's. By getting a better power supply unit, your hard disk will last longer too. Till today, my HDD does not have any bad sector as I decided to get a better PSU on my purchase. My pc is now about 5-6 years old and I haven't change the HDD yet till today.

My Car

My boss still complain about my car when I drove him to do key injection for 1 of our projects. Even though when he 1st heard my car engine he said it was quiet already and since it went thru repairs of Rm1800, it is really nice to drive and when you are driving with the radio on and aircond on you don't even hear the engine AT ALL. Really.

Anyway I guess I am really thankful. I don't mind driving this car. Really. I thank God for this car as it can even bring me to work and even to cyberjaya for work. But the other passenger in my car told me I should get a car so can go find ah moi.

But if the ah moi wants me to drive a good car means, they are more interested in material things that what you really should be finding which is a good heart and a person who loves God (I am not talking about myself, but in general).

Am I going to change my car? Well answer is no. Sit my car and you will know the difference. Even my friends commented that my car is like brand new just the external got some issues only.

Sunway Giza

I had lunch the other day in Fullhouse and I have to say they are over priced and portion so little and the bottom line is it is not worth going there.

I Love My Printer

Man, I am so crazy over my printer with what it can do for me to really help me. One example is the other day I had to scan something and I can scan direct into PDF rather than needing to scan from my older scanner (I think rosak already). Not only that, after scanning, I just need to point where to send the PDF file which is linked up to my network. Super!

Printing is really fast too. The other day my mum printed 8 pages and before I could pull out the holder to hold the paper, all 8 pages are done! The other day my mum needed me to print out the same thing again for her friends so I told her no need to on PC, just use the photocopy option. It came out really fast too. But good thing is you can set if you want it to be dark or normal, which most of the time I just use lighter. Photocopy and printing out came out really fast too.

But I will need to get the higher capacity black ink. Been using it to print stuff for my parents and it drop about 2%. So with the higher cap, I can print about 900 pages which is a lot for a cheaper price. So my final words, it is worth buying this printer.

Printing : 10 (super fast, can print 38 ppm for black)
Scan : 6 (Scan can be a little slower, but who cares, but file can send to ur pc directly)
Photocopy : 9 (freaking fast after pressing print)
Fax : NA (never try fax yet)

Such A Shame

The other day I went for lunch with my family in one of those hotel's in Glenmarie. We ate Japanese food. Anyway when we are there, the waiter's there got problem and always showing black face. Not only the waiter got problem, the manager also got problem.

As we were using CC to pay to get buy 1 free 1, they didnt allow us to sit together and since there is 6 of us, they ask us to sit on 3 different tables. Shows how stupid they can be. There are a lot of other empty tables in their restaurant but they still ask us to follow their rules. Anyway its ok, we still did follow. But the thing I didn't like, the manager raise his voice to us showing that he is not happy. Worst is he is the same kind as us. Then my mum and I raise my voice back with him. Then only he settled down.

Anyway in the end we sat in 3 different tables which is not a problem to us. Only their waiter will suffer so what the hell we care? Another family that came with the same number of people was also forced to do the same thing and they taruh that fella in Chinese language. Anyway that place don't have that many customers and the reason he gave is that after got those CC fella come and spot check then they kantoi. The reason is so stupid. Not only that, now I know why he is send to a place where there is less customers, coz he cannot think and he cannot cope with even simple stuff.

Suzuki Cup

The other day M'sia vs Indo on a Wednesday night and I decided to watch it. Not bad game even though M'sia lost 2-1 but they still were champs as it was an 4-2 after 2 matches. Congrats to my own home country. Goals were not bad even from the 1st game that was played in Bkt Jalil.

After 1 Week, Nightmare

Even before my 1 week in December, I was freaking lazy and I didn't print any of my logs. Now I will have to pay back by working on my printing once again from December till January. Oh man, I am going to waste a lot of paper! But what to do? Need to follow compliance so just do only lor. Man its going to be loads of work for me. Sad but true. I guess the 1st day or the 1st week need to do OT already.

Getting Married

Nope it is not me getting married. It is my mum friend kid that is getting married. But the best part is they are just done and they are getting married. Now where does the finance come from? FAMA! But I guess if I am in his shoes, I will work my @ss out till I have the money they only I will get married. If not life is so easy then we will NEVER LEARN HOW TO APPRECIATE. Mark my words. WHY? I know it too well. When life is good / easy, we always take things for granted. When life is hard that is when we will say nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 Week Just Pass

Man I was on leave like 1 week and the time just flew so fast. I have to be head back to work on 4th which is tomorrow. Nooooooooooooo.....Anyway didn't really do that much during the 1 week but slept quite a lot so that is quite good rest I have to say.I played loads of computer games, got turn off my DSC, service my car, eat, sleep, buy my new printer and DVD Writer, watch some movies.

But it is really great to have more than 1 week off as it is the ONLY WAY TO RECHARGE YOU ONCE AGAIN. To me taking 1 or 2 days off from the week aint happening. But I am quite lucky as I have a lot of leave to throw around so I am really blessed :)

Wiraline

This is a new name that I gave my car. Why Wiraline? My car is called Proton Wira and I love Skyline so I join the both names together and that is what I got. Anyway my car was sent for servicing on the 29th and I guess there was a major fixing to be done. Had to change timing belt, fix aircond duct, compressor, service the car, change engine mounting, screw back my bumper and many more and the amount is Rm1800!

It took them 2 days to fix my car and when I went to check my car, I was so shocked. It is not like my previous car! The engine was quiet unlike last time so noisy. I am really happy with the way they really do up my car as it is like a new car and I won't trade in this car. Even the mechanic told me that my car engine is really good even today.

I guess it downs to drivers if they take care of their car or not. If the car engine is taken care well the car can bring you REALLY FAR. So to those who keep on asking to change my car, take a seat and let me drive you :P
