The Cat Worst Worst Nightmare Part 8

I finally did it. I poured hot water on a cat as it was sleeping on my backyard fence. I really crept up and throw a small bowl of hot water on it. I actually boiled the water for my maggie mee, but since I saw the cat using my space without paying rent, it is time to pay back. Yeah I know everyone who reads this will see I am cruel. But cats, You are my Number 1 Enemy :P

Anyway the cat didn't know I was behind it and when I poured the water, it really fly so so fast. After that it started to look from me from a far. When the cat flew, the cat which is opposite ran extremely fast too. I have no idea why. In the end

Go Home Early Please

Was in office last week when my friend told me he was rob when he was heading to the LRT Station. Actually at first I thought he was joking and then when I saw the mark on his nose I knew he was not joking anymore. The thing about the company is they expect you to work late / hard / put more effort but they don't even care about the person's safety.

All I saw was that they put down a note there stating "If you need to work late, please find someone to walk with you to your destination". To me it shows 1 thing, they don't care about your safety and they expect you to put like 150% everyday. To me is simple theory, safety comes 1st, don't care guys or girls. One incident will cause you to be freak out all the time.

I just read about the incident in a shopping complex in PJ and the way or robbery is MADNESS. I won't tell the name of the place but if you guys read my blog and want to know where that place is msn me. Those of you who have received that email before please do spread the word out too.

To all my friends, especially girls, please please don't work so late. Remember like I say safety comes 1st. Try to avoid unnecessary incidents which might just bring nightmare to you all.

WHY EMPLOYEES LEAVE ORGANISATIONS ?

Every company faces the problem of people leaving the company for better pay or profile.

Early this year, Mark, a senior software designer, got an offer from a prestigious international firm to work in its India operations developing specialized software. He was thrilled by the offer.

He had heard a lot about the CEO. The salary was great. The company had all the right systems in place employee-friendly human resources (HR) policies, a spanking new office, and the very best technology, even a canteen that served superb food.

Twice Mark was sent abroad for training. "My learning curve is the sharpest it's ever been," he said soon after he joined.

Last week, less than eight months after he joined, Mark walked out of the job.

Why did this talented employee leave ?

Arun quit for the same reason that drives many good people away.

The answer lies in one of the largest studies undertaken by the Gallup Organization. The study surveyed over a million employees and 80,000 managers and was published in a book called "First Break All The Rules". It came up with this surprising finding:

If you're losing good people, look to their immediate boss. Immediate boss is the reason people stay and thrive in an organization. And he's/she’s the reason why people leave. When people leave they take knowledge, experience and contacts with them, straight to the competition.

"People leave managers not companies," write the authors Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman.

Mostly manager drives people away?

HR experts say that of all the abuses, employees find humiliation the most intolerable. The first time, an employee may not leave, but a thought has been planted. The second time, that thought gets strengthened. The third time, he looks for another job.

When people cannot retort openly in anger, they do so by passive aggression. By digging their heels in and slowing down. By doing only what they are told to do and no more. By omitting to give the boss crucial information. Dev says: "If you work for a jerk, you basically want to get him into trouble. You don 't have your heart and soul in the job."

Different managers can stress out employees in different ways - by being too controlling, too suspicious, too pushy, too critical, but they forget that workers are not fixed assets, they are free agents. When this goes on too long, an employee will quit - often over a trivial issue.

Talented staff leaves. Dead wood doesn't.

My Chinese Name Is Tenderheart

Last Saturday when I was having lunch with my friend, she asked me whats my chinese name and I told her in chinese and she wrote it down for me and I asked her to send it over sms to me. So today I got 3 people to verify my Chinese name. So the original writer got my name right, Corrina got my name explain right, CK got my name verified and explanation was right and Emily explain my name right and verified with her dad too.

Now I really know the true meaning of my name. It is Tenderheart + moral. I didn't know that till now and since many people verified my name I believe it is already correct. Now back to tenderheart, I was tenderheart last time but now my heart has change a bit harder. I guess I will still have to stick to my kindness towards everyone. The original story is last time when I check out the Carebears website, I was trying to find the bear that was really me. A lot of my friends verified that I am Tenderheart.

I believe there is no fluke shot why I am named like that as God don't make mistakes in creating us. My friend send me this sms and it goes this way. Good meaning? God don't make mistakes.

Wonderful People Are Carefully Created By God
Wonderful Moments Are Carefully Planned By God
Wonderful Person Like You, Is A Gift From God

Valentines Day Part 3

Well on the 14th of February, I had major good time in office as it was my 1st time powering an as400 down. What happen you might ask? Well there was a need to restore some of the data back to the Dev Server and the hard disk was not enough and the hard disk space reach out to 99.7% which is freaking dangerous. So to stop all the restoration, we had to power down the as400. I was the person to press the enter button to restart the whole thing. It was a DAY TO REMEMBER. I still remember when my friends was still there, they say one day we shall power down the as400 but it was meant to be the production and not the DR.

In the evening I could not go back early as I still had to clear the Dev server and I only went home like 7pm+. I still remembered that I chat with Liz for a little while before she left as she was going for leaders meeting. When I reach the lrt station, the LRT was having some technical problem. I had to wait like 20 mins on Masjid Jamek station before we were let into the platform. Those who were heading towards Gombak side could enter all the time which was not fair. I was already freaking tired and having to wait another 20mins on the station was tiring. I sms Liz as I knew, if Masjid Jamek was bad, KLCC will be worst. In the end they allowed us to go to the platform and as usual I wont be able to get into the 1st train. I manage to get into the 2nd train which thank God I was thin enough to fit in. In Pasar Seni, someone ask me to get in when I could not move in and in the end was my friend. But it was good that he is there as we manage to talk a lot in the train about all types of trash and laugh in the train like the train belongs to us. In the end after buying food and all, I reach home at around 9pm ++ and started to chat with Corrina and crashed at 10pm. So was it a good day? Yes and No

My Nieces & Nephew

It was in December when I attended 2 weddings and it was nearly back to back weddings. One wedding was on end of December and the other was 1st week of January. Both the weddings mean a lot to me as I manage to see some of my nieces and nephews I HAVE NEVER seen before in my life. Some of them are already 5 and 6 years old.

The 1st wedding was Nathania and Joshua. Both of them are twins and they are so cute in their own ways. The boy can even talk so well that during his uncles wedding, he went up on the stage and gave a SPEECH WITHOUT PREPARING anything. It was spot on talk. I was darn amaze with that kid. As for the girl, she is like a princess. I tried to be with her as much as possible and also talking to her about different things. They even told me when is their birthday. I believe I should remember as it is not far away from my aunties birthday. Both these kids meant a lot to me when I saw them the very 1st time. Even my cousins wife, knew I have a special heart for kids as she could see that I really spend time with her kids.

2nd wedding was all about Sam. She is a freaking smart 5 year old girl. For a girl that age she knows what on earth is period. And at 5 years old, she is freaking heavy for her age. It seems her body bones are made from bricks. I tried to carry her on to a chair and I nearly died myself :P But she is another freaking talented kid as her maid teaches her to read everyday and get her to learn her piano every single day. I was really shocked when she talk to me like a 8/10 year old kid could talk. But one thing for sure was both of us manage to click in about 25mins when I was having dinner with my cousins. She just have a love for me.

To all those kids who I have meet, you all mean a lot to me in your own special way. May I get to see you once again next time. I love you kids A LOT :)

Quite some time back when I was going to Genting Highlands, one car over took my car and it was a Volkswagen Golf which was fitted with turbo and it was flying up the hill like so freaking fast with the turbo. It was like just a game for that car. Then I really started to wonder, wont the turbo get work out when you keep on changing your gears too often? Something for me to wonder

Loosing My Skills

Darn it has been quite a while since I last played my guitar. And now when I post, I am actually practicing my guitar at the same time. Things which was quite easy for me last time now I can't just get it that fast anymore or worst can I say I am starting to press the wrong frets and the wrong place. Oh noooooooooooooooooooooo.......................

Anyway I guess during CNY I will really have to work on my finger energy and also the chords. Got to try to play new things rather than things that I already know for now. Cannot be so lazy anymore or else I will surely forget how to play those chords..

My Car

Well it is not really my car, but it is the car that I am driving to LRT station everyday. Actually my parents got the car to be fixed as it was drinking blackoil like drinking water. Every week I will have to top up the black oil as the black oil is just drank up.

Send the car to the workshop and they told me that it could be the engine that has some problems and the only way to find out is to open the whole engine and check it out. In the end they really did a full overhaul to the engine by changing the piston rings, tyres, absorbers, gasket, valve and etc. It took the 2days for the shop to fix up my car and I did go and check the car on the 1st day it was there and boy did they rip off the engine and clean every single thing in it. The engine really look new.

Anyway the car is now in a better condition, but the only thing I don't like is in the morning I will have to warm up the car before I can drive it as the carburetor is old and it needs to be warm up. By warming up the car I will minus precious time on the road. Usually I will start the car and zoom off to the lrt station. But now if I do that, when I change from 1st gear to 2nd gear, the car will jerk like mad and it don't have the energy to fly like last time. Oh yeah the car pickup is not fast as last time too. Anyway the car cost rm1.5K+ to fix up as the labour charges was the highest. I guess after doing such a major fix to the car, the car would last me for still quite some time. Now all my car need is to refix the body a little bit, repaint the body and it should last a long long time :)

Life Choice

What would you do ?
You make the choice Don't look for a punch line. There isn't one. Read it anyway.

My question to all of you is:
Would you have made the same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended.

After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question. "When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?"

The audience was still ed by the query. The father continued. "I believe, that when a child like Shay comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes, in the way other people treat that child." Then he told the following story: Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, "Do you think they'll let me play?" Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging. Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked if Shay could play.

The boy looked around for guidance and, getting none, he took matters into his own hands and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning.. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning." In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.

In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the outfield. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. At this juncture, let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible 'cause Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least be able to make contact. The f irst pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game. Instead, the pitcher took the ball and turned and threw the ball on a high arc to right field, far beyond the reach of the first baseman.

Everyone started yelling, "Shay, run to first! Run to first!" Never in his life had Shay ever made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled. Everyone yelled, "Run to second, run to second!" By the time Shay rounded first base, the right fielder had the ball. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitche r's intentions and intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head. Shay ran toward second base as the runners ahead of him deliriously circled the bases toward home.

Shay reached second base, the opposing shortstop ran to him, turned him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third!" As Shay rounded third, the boys from both team were screaming, "Shay, run home!" Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was
cheered as the hero who hit the "grand slam" and won the game for his team.

"That day," said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, "the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world."

AND, NOW A LITTLE FOOTNOTE TO THIS STORY: We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about
life choices, people think twice about sharing. The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely
through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.

If you're thinking about forwarding this message, chances are that you're probably sorting out the people on your address list that aren't the "appropriate" ones to receive this type of message.

Well, the person who sent you this believes that we all can make a difference. We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the "natural order of things."

So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice:
Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up that opportunity, and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

Melaka Branch Visit

Was in Melaka last Saturday till Monday for branch visit. Honest this branch is the worst I have been. The BM and 2nd in command was never to be found when I was there. We were there is to do the DR testing and also help them out if they have any problems. Most of the time we are able to solve most of their problems.

I will give in points why it was the worst branch I ever visited

  1. They only book 1 night of hotel when it was suppose to be 2 nights
  2. Had to find another hotel ourself
  3. Their Branch Manager (BM) and 2nd in charge was no where to be found
  4. The DR testing for a group was done by junior officers (JO) which is a no no, coz JO cannot do a lot of things others do
  5. The people there are freaking blur

Why it is quite good trip, my friend brought me to eat good food most of the time :) The best part is the BM called me when I was on my way back to KL saying that he wanted to buy us dinner tonight (Monday Night). We were like what crap is that man, but overall, the best is still Ipoh trip.

Some questions for friends ...

What would you do if every time you fell in love with someone you had to say good-bye?

What would you do if every time you wanted someone they would never be there?

What would you do if for every moment you were truly happy there would be 10 moments of sadness?

What would you do if your best friend died tomorrow and you never got to tell them how you felt?

What would you do if you loved someone more than anything else and you could never have them?

Some people live and some people die.

But I want to tell you I love you and you are a true friend...

That I will always be here for you when and if you need me...

If I died tomorrow, you would be in my heart forever.

Would I be in yours?

If you care about the person who sent this to you then you will send it back.

Please send this to all your friends...

You might be best friends one year, pretty good friends the next year, don't talk that often the next year, and don't want to talk at all the year after that.

So, I just wanted to say, even if I never talk to you again in my life, you are special to me and you have made a difference in my life.

I look up to you, respect you, and truly cherish you.

Send this to all your friends, no matter how often you talk, or how close you are, and send it to the person who sent it to you.

Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them, and tell new friends you never will.

Remember, everyone needs a friend, someday you might feel like you have NO FRIENDS at all, just remember this e-mail and take comfort in knowing somebody out there cares about you and always will.

I LOVE MY FRIEND S ALWAY S & FO R E VER! ! !
